Verbpricing
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Pricing is a fundamental aspect of financial modeling, and is one of the four Ps of the marketing mix. The other three aspects are product, promotion, and place. It is also a key variable in microeconomic price allocation theory. Price is the only revenue generating element amongst the four Ps, the rest being cost centers. Pricing is the manual or automatic process of applying prices to purchase and sales orders, based on factors such as: a fixed amount, quantity break, promotion or sales campaign, specific vendor quote, price prevailing on entry, shipment or invoice date, combination of multiple orders or lines, and many others. Automated systems require more setup and maintenance but may prevent pricing errors. From Wikipedia under the

Well, I just tried to send something out today and apparently I didn't have enough postage since they changed the pricing at the post office. How often does this happen? I am relatively new to using the post office, but if they keep the flat-rate stuff at this much, I'm going to use a lot of money. How often do they change pricing? Unlike UPS and FedEx the postal service cannot raise prices whenever they want to, contrary to another answer given above, The Postal Service requests rate increases from the Postal Rate Commission in order to fulfill an order of the US Congress. The Congress passed a law in 1970 stating that the USPS must not lose money or make a profit. While they WILL lose money some years and be in the black other years, the bottom line is meant to balance out over the course of time. With the recent rate increases the USPS has been required to charge postage using two differing systems. In products that the USPS does not have competition (1st class mail, advertising mail) they must keep their rates steady.
