There are many pricing models in use, although all essentially incorporate the concepts of rational pricing, Moneyness, Option time value and Put-call parity. Amongst the most common models are:

GNU Free Documentation License Focus 2008 pricing options? Q. How do i find the pricing on the different options the focus 2008 has on it? or does any1 know them? Asked by steven b - Thu May 29 08:40:47 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. There are 3 diffrent classes of Foci: SES, SE, S The SES being the most expensive, and the S being the least. The retail price for each are listed below. SES 2 Door: 15727 SES 4 Door: 15404 SE 2 Door: 14180 SE 4 Door: 14508 S 2 Door: 14295 S 4 Door: 14755 These are the listed retail prices, but when more options are added, the prices of course go up. I have a Black SES coupe fully loded and it cost 19840 with no trade in. The best value for your money would be the SES package. But the Focus is a good choice all the way around, its safer than the cobalt and rides much better. I love mine, and im sure you would love it too. Answered by 08Focus - Thu May 29 23:38:04 2008 Why are options on stocks more expensive now than they were a couple months ago? Q. I have been in the options market for the past six months and since January 2009 option prices have gone up about $3.00 on average. Does anyone else notice this trend or is it just me? And if so why are options becoming so expensive these days? Asked by jabon_wilson - Sat Feb 28 21:42:49 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. Short answer: Supply and demand. There are more people who want to buy options than sell them. Long answer. The price of a given option is determined by a formula derived from a statistical model, such as Black Scholes. All of the variables can be looked up exept one which is called "implied volatility" or IV. Option market makers are "liquidity providers" who must have bid and ask quotes for all the options on a given underlying security. To protect themselves, they try to offset long option positions with short options positions. If they find they have too many long options and want to offset them with short options, they lower the IV which lowers the options prices which in turn encourages more people to buy options from them.… [cont.] Answered by zman492 - Sat Feb 28 22:19:06 2009 I'm offered stock options for a start-up that isn't public. If the company never goes public am I screwed?
Q. Also, would I get the options priced at the IPO? Asked by naka - Mon Aug 20 19:28:11 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Yes, you would be screwed. Options price is usually specified in the options. Typically the option price is much lower than the IPO price.
