How does internet pricing work when looking to buy a new car?
Q. I'm looking into buying a new Nissan Versa and am looking at local dealerships websites. One I found show the MSRP price as well as an internet price for all the Versas listed. All the internet prices all $2,500 to $3,000 cheaper than the MSRP price they have listed. So I wanted to know what does the internet pricing price tag mean and how does it work and can if I can really get the car that much cheaper how do I go about the process? Thanks.

A. there isn't really much you can do with $100. depending on what you are looking for, it might be a good idea to do a search on Pubmed to see if anybody else is looking at your protein of interest and maybe shooting them an email asking them (politely) for some stock...one of the ELISAs i do, i get most of the antibodies and standards sent to me by our collaborators

How often does the post office change their pricing?
Q. Well, I just tried to send something out today and apparently I didn't have enough postage since they changed the pricing at the post office. How often does this happen? I am relatively new to using the post office, but if they keep the flat-rate stuff at this much, I'm going to use a lot of money. How often do they change pricing?

A. Unlike UPS and FedEx the postal service cannot raise prices whenever they want to, contrary to another answer given above, The Postal Service requests rate increases from the Postal Rate Commission in order to fulfill an order of the US Congress. The Congress passed a law in 1970 stating that the USPS must not lose money or make a profit. While they WILL lose money some years and be in the black other years, the bottom line is meant to balance out over the course of time. With the recent rate increases the USPS has been required to charge postage using two differing systems. In products that the USPS does not have competition (1st class mail, advertising mail) they must keep their rates steady. In products and services where they do have… [cont.]

Q. I have an interview tomorrow for the Merchandising and Pricing Associate position. I was wanting to know what the daily duties for this position consist of. For those that have done this type of work with Sears, or any other company, is it a difficult job? Q. I currently have comcast at home with my family, but I am moving out and need to know the best pricing. If I can't get all three, I would like phone and cable.

A. cable and phone companies pay to have the rights to certain areas meaning, that comcaast will pay to be the cable provider from lets say Xto Y and another company has it from A to B. So the only way to not get the area's cable provider is to get sateillte or other non-cable services. same thing with the telephone.

A. As I understood your question you need a good book on pricing derivatives. Try this: Hull , John - Options, Futures and Other Derivative Securities (5nd Ed.) Since direct links are not welcome here, you should open www.rapidshared.org -> choose e-books directory -> search for 'derivatives' -> get the direct link and spent couple of minutes reading the demanded chapters.

A. "Price fixing is an agreement between business competitors to sell the same product or service at the same price. In general, it is an agreement intended to ultimately push the price of a product as high as possible, leading to profits for all the sellers. Price-fixing can also involve any agreement to fix, peg, discount or stabilize prices. The principal feature is any agreement on price, whether expressed or implied. For the buyer, meanwhile, the practice results in a phenomenon similar to price gouging. Generally, price fixing is illegal, but it may nevertheless be tolerated or even sanctioned by some governments at various times, particularly among those whose countries are developing economies. A. I would talk to a real estate broker about this. you would do well to have someone on your side who is familiar with local real estate and negotiating. I am pretty confident that any extra money that is made will more than cover any commission you need to pay. Barring that, the neighbors can all get together and discuss openly the offers they are all getting. If everyone is open and honest they will be able to leverage that knowledge to try and command a high price for all the properties. if the university deems the houses and land as critical to the project they may not be willing to lose a whole block to hold-out neighbors. Lastly, watch out because Philly has recent history of condemning land to take it by eminent domain. They've… [cont.]

Why is there no campaign against minimum pricing for alcohol in the UK?
Q. The government is talking about bringing in minimum pricing on alcohol, to stop teenage binge drinking. We all know this won't work, it doesn't work with cigarettes. All it will do is tax people who drink responsibly, as well as those who don't, and make ash for the greedy government. Yet nobody is doing anything about it! Are we all that apathetic? Shame on us!
